Wellington Barracks, Hong Kong

Wellington Barracks (Chinese: 威靈頓兵房) was a British Army barracks in Admiralty of Central on the north side of Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong. The three storey Classical architecture building was built in 1854. The barracks had an army hospital, and this still exists as Hong Kong International School. The barracks were closed in 1979 and demolished in 1992. The site was later rebuilt: north of the Queensway became Pacific Place and south the Harcourt Garden.

The barracks was likely named for the late Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, former British Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the British Army.
